Taurus - Sagittarius Love Compatibility

Taurus and Sagittarius may not be the best ever Star Sign pairing! But they’re a great example of an apparently mismatched couple who – with a little patience and mutual give and take – can actually learn to thrive on their differences and experience a higher level of love compatibility than anyone might have predicted.

As far as love compatibility is concerned, some people see this as one of the more challenging Star Sign combinations, with one sign – Taurus – ruled by the element of Earth and the other – Sagittarius – ruled by the conflicting element of Fire. In reality though, things aren’t necessarily quite as difficult as they might initially appear!

True, a fundamentally different outlook on life – pragmatic, cautious and risk-averse in the case of Taurus – passionate, adventurous and risk-taking in the case of Sagittarius – can give rise to some disagreements.

In a long-term relationship, Sagittarius's cavalier approach can be worrying to Taurus, for whom financial security is always paramount; in turn, the maverick Archer may feel held back and frustrated by the Bull's seeming inability ever to break out of its fixed ways.

But if each accepts they have much to gain and benefit from the other, Taurus and Sagittarius have the ability to go far in life together. From Taurus, Sagittarius can learn to be more focussed and develop more patience and persistence. In turn, Sagittarius can help Taurus towards the material success it so longs for, by teaching it to be a little more flexible and more prepared to take a gamble.

For sure, there are some very big emotional differences between a Taurus and a Sagittarian, the Earth sign’s deep-seated need for stability and routine seriously conflicting with the Fire sign’s irrepressible urge for personal freedom. Basically, the Bull is suspicious of change, prefers to stay in one place, and will stubbornly resist any attempts to get it moving.

But nothing is more horrifying to restless Sagittarius than the prospect of being stuck in a rut and never being able to spread its wings. In a love match, what Taurus wants most is permanence and stability, yet these are the very things that will send Sagittarius running in the opposite direction. To remain emotionally unscathed by this relationship, both signs will have to make some major adjustments.

Sexually, Taurus and Sagittarius don't always click initially. The steady and reliable Bull may complain that Sagittarius is too unpredictable, too irresponsible and too unwilling to commit – while to the excitement-seeking Archer, Taurus can seem a bit dull, stodgy and overly possessive.

For things to work between these two sexually, Sagittarius has to be prepared to give up at least some of its freedom, while Taurus needs to be willing to try a few new tricks.

It’s hard for these two Star Signs to relate to each other’s ways of thinking since they have such different outlooks on the world. It’s equally difficult for them to communicate freely and easily because their verbal styles have so little in common.

While Sagittarius views life as a giant adventure playground, for Taurus it’s all about getting down to the serious business of making money and building material assets. Whereas Sagittarius loves to discuss exciting possibilities, the Bull prefers to talk about hard facts and realities. The Archer expresses itself with great ebullience and optimism which contrasts sharply with Taurus’s matter-of-fact and sober style.

Conversation between these Star Signs is likely to be quite sparse and labored unless Sagittarius learns to present its grand visions as more practically feasible, and Taurus succeeds in opening its mind to a more venturesome and upbeat take on life.

Given the high level of compatibility challenges between Taurus and Sagittarius, there are some serious question marks over the ability of a Taurus-Sagittarius couple to co-exist harmoniously in a live-in relationship.

Will the play-it-safe Earth sign end up stifling the Sagittarian’s passionate enthusiasm for living? Are Sagittarius’s big dreams and ideas far too grandiose and impractical for feet-on-the-ground Taurus? Will the long-suffering Bull be left to do all the work, pay all the bills and carry all the responsibilities, while its Sagittarian partner enjoys a footloose and care-free existence.

Only if both people have a live-and-let-live outlook and are very tolerant of the other, is a Taurus-Sagittarius relationship likely to prove successful in the long run.
