AQUARIUS AND CAPRICORN LOVE COMPATIBILITY


HOW COMPATIBLE ARE AQUARIUS AND CAPRICORN IN A LOVE RELATIONSHIP?

Although in many ways it may seem that couples born under consecutive Star Signs, like Aquarius and Capricorn, have nothing in common, because there’s a greater than average probability that they will share Mercury and/or Venus signs, they often have more similarities, and thus a higher level of love compatibility, than one might expect.

Certainly, there are some big differences between Capricorn and Aquarius due to the conflicting Earth-Air combination – the former basically being quite traditional and pragmatic, while the latter is much more independent and non-conformist.

Nevertheless – probably because they're next-door neighbors in the Zodiac – consecutive Star Signs like Capricorn and Aquarius are traditionally considered to have quite a good level of love compatibility and a reasonable chance of understanding each other and getting on. There’s a surprising ability to tolerate each other’s contrasting way of going about things, and they can generally relate to one another’s weak points, which each can help the other to overcome.

Aquarius, for example, can often temper Capricorn’s overly developed sense of duty, encouraging it to be a little less cautious and a little more experimental. There are certainly some big differences between Aquarius and Capricorn people, emotionally speaking. Ruled by Uranus, the planet of revolution, Aquarius is the most forward-thinking and rebellious of all the star signs. Ruled by Saturn, the planet of stability, Capricorn is probably the most traditionally minded and security conscious. Aquarius wants to try new ways of doing things, Capricorn prefers to stick with what’s proved and tested.

In its relationships, the Earth sign is into long-term monogamy and commitment. Keeping a sense of personal independence tends to be more important to Aquarius, who hates to feel trapped or pinned down, however much it’s in love. Whether or not these differences create major problems between an Aquarius-Capricorn couple, depends on the willingness of the two people to learn from, and counterbalance, each other’s contrasting styles – and how much they genuinely want their relationship to work.

Sexually, Aquarius and Capricorn are so different in their needs and outlook, they don't always click initially.

Security-conscious Capricorn may complain that Aquarius is too unpredictable, too irresponsible and too unwilling to commit, while to the uninhibited Aquarian – who enjoys experimenting with sex – the Goat's unadventurous love-making can seem a bit staid and boring. Aquarius loves to shock, while Capricorn is easily embarrassed. Sexual variety is the spice of life for Aquarius, but Capricorn feels more comfortable with a carefully ordered lovemaking routine.

For things to work sexually between these two, Aquarius has to be more willing to follow Capricorn’s ‘rules’, while Capricorn needs to loosen up a bit!


AQUARIUS - CAPRICORN MENTAL COMPATIBILITY

Since Capricorn is one of the most conservative and traditional thinkers in the Zodiac, while Aquarius is by far the most modern-minded and forward-looking, connecting harmoniously with each other at a mental level obviously won’t come particularly easily to either of these two Star Signs.

Aquarius complains that Capricorn always wants to stick to old, outworn, tried and tested solutions and won’t open its mind to more enlightened alternative approaches. A major problem here is that while the Goat is happiest talking about concrete facts and realities, Aquarius is far more interested in discussing abstract ideas – which Capricorn dismisses as of no practical relevance and a complete waste of time.

Finding a middle path between their radically different mindsets is obviously the answer for these two Star Signs, but given their mutual rigid-mindedness, this isn’t always easy to achieve.

The degree of challenge in an Aquarius-Capricorn relationship fundamentally depends on just how representative the two people are of their respective star signs.

A stereotypical Capricorn is a dyed in the wool traditionalist who’s highly suspicious of new-fangled ideas and disapproves strongly of all forms of outrageous behavior. A typical Aquarian is a hard-core progressive who wants out with the old and in with the new, and is unashamedly proud of its eccentricities and non-conformism.

In the worst case scenario Aquarius and Capricorn would find it incredibly difficult to co-exist in a close relationship without driving each other to distraction. But because of how horoscopes work, neighboring star signs like Capricorn and Aquarius often share some of each other’s traits and have more in common than you would initially expect – and this is especially the case if they are romantically attracted to each other.
