The elements of Fire, Earth, Air and Water represent four fundamental styles of being which define our core values and attitudes towards life. Blessed with great common sense, they excel at finding workable solutions to everyday problems, although they’re not so good at grasping abstract, intangible ideas. 


Conservative and quite traditional by nature, Earth signs prefer to make the best of the status quo rather than venturing into the unknown or making changes that could jeopardize their security. Safety is particularly important to Earth types, and their sense of wellbeing is directly linked to their material assets.

All three of the Earth signs are highly reliable people who make excellent providers and are unlikely to let their dependents down. When faced with problems they take a stoical approach, quietly persisting with the job in hand until it is properly done.

When someone has too much Earth, they may be excessively preoccupied with material affairs and practicalities, at the expense of personal feelings and relationships.

Lack of Earth

No Earth, or too little Earth, in a person’s make-up can result in an ungrounded or unworldly outlook on life, and difficulty in finding one’s true place in the world.
